The Red Mountain Repeater

 

This is the USFS Highlands Lookout in September 2024. In it are located the Butte Radio Club 2 meter repeater (W7ROE) and the 70 cm repeater. It's a one of a kind site at nearly 10,000 feet in elevation. The tower is shown below.

 

The four folded dipoles shown on the right side of the tower are  the property of Butte Radio Club.  They are phased to provide great coverage to Butte and good distance.  We have friends who have been able to activate our repeater from Bozeman, which is nearly 80 miles east, Helena, which is 50 miles north, and Dillon, which is 60 miles south.
